Visa gold for collecting bonus points

I often wonder what the credit cards are for. I have one because a friend told me it is good for my credit "dossier". I never need credit, and even if I do, I don’t know how the fact of having a credit card will help.

For exemple, if I don’t get a regular pay (weekly, be-weekly, monthly), how am I supposed to pay off my credit? At the same time, if I do, then I can (most likely) deal with the money I receive. If not, I don’t see how a credit card will help me — in a few weeks I will be starting to pay interst, instead of giving back the money I landed.

Recently, I just tried for fun to apply for a golden credit card, with the only reason that it provides a better service for when there is a fraud, insurance for travelling and reimbourement for lost luggage. And I got it without problems. Now I can get a credit of 5000 within a day. But how will I pay it off after that?

Therefore, I use my visa gold for collecting some bonus-points, which is sort of a game provided by the bank. I don’t really need it, but I see what a respect I produce when giving it to vendors. It is obviously a question of prestige rather than anything else...

Being a student again

Since September 2006 I am a student again. Making my master’s in Communications within the École des Médias at the Université du Québec à Montréal. So, this is my fifth session, with two courses, one in Méthodologie qualitative, and the other one in Réseaux humains de communications (human networks in communications).

It is difficult to feel like a student when you have a 11 months old baby at home, with which you spend most of your hours and days. At the same time, twice a week, I prepare my bag, my laptop, readings and notebooks and I run to the university. The feeling of running, with a bag on your back, grabbing coffee on the way, and planning the homewoks on the way... What a great feeling! I am a student again! :)

Elle dort... finalement

Oui, elle dors 8-9 heures par nuit et elle reussis à s’endormir (parfois) seule dans le lit pendant le jour. Elle est une grande fille maintenant :-)

Another born blog

37 000 000 of blogs online (May 2006), and almost double in November (60 000 000)... yet another one to come!

I have had a continuous discussion on whether a blog is necessary and why there are so many people who wish to express their minds and thoughts online. What were they doing before blog was created - would they write on paper, or simply keep all their thoughts inside?

I was in fact thinking long time on whether I should to start a blog and for what purpose exactly... So, probably it is time now to say I have a global view on this issue and that I am ready to jump in. Let’s see if it will last.
